8th Grade Promotion Information
Letter From Administration
Hello Washington Manor Families
As we approach the end of our school year as well as all of the exciting milestone celebrations that come with that, we want to share how our promotion tickets will work this year.
Each student will receive four (4) tickets to sit in our ticketed area. These will be handed to them at the end of rehearsal on the morning of June 3rd. Each ticket will entitle the ticket holder to a wrist band used to gain access to the ticketed seating area. Everyone else coming to celebrate will be welcome in our general admission area.
When your party arrives, you will present your ticket and wrist bands will be placed on your wrist to ensure your access to the ticketed area.
If you have any questions, please refer to our Promotion FAQ below or reach out to our office or Assistant Principal.
Thank you!
Promotion Ticket FAQs
Can I get extra tickets?
Each student will receive 4 tickets. Additional tickets are not for sale.
What if my student loses their tickets?
If a ticket is lost, it must be reported to the main office at 510-317-5501. Once reported, the lost ticket will be voided and rendered unusable. A replacement ticket will then be issued. Please note: lost tickets cannot be reported at the ticket counter during the promotion.
Will there be a will call?
Yes! If your entire party cannot be present to turn in tickets, you may leave tickets at will call for them to pick up later. Please be sure to write their full name on each ticket to ensure proper distribution.
What if I won't be using all of my tickets?
You are welcome to share your extra tickets with another student’s family, but tickets can only be used for one guest.
Do children need a ticket?
Children who can sit on an adult's lap do not need a ticket. Everyone else will need a ticket to enter the ticket area. Those without tickets are welcome in our general admission area.
Will there be parking?
Handicap parking will be available in the staff parking lot. There will be limited parking in the parking lot loop. Street parking is recommended.
How long is the promotion ceremony? When will gates open?
Promotion starts at 2:00pm and is expected to last no more than 1 hour. Side gates in the Staff Parking lot will open for entry at 1:30pm.
Can I bring balloons, signs, flowers or gifts?
Yes, however balloons, signs, flowers and gifts must be dropped off in Room 404 before the ceremony. They are not allowed in the seating area during the promotion. After the ceremony, you may pick them up from Room 404.
Please Note: Balloons and signs in the seating area can obstruct the view of the ceremony for others. To ensure all families have an equal opportunity to enjoy the event, balloons and signs are to be kept out of the seating area.
What should my child wear for the ceremony?
This is a special event for everyone involved. We would like our students to be picture ready for any photos capturing the moment. Shoes should be comfortable and students should be prepared to walk up and down a small set of stairs in their shoes and outfits.
What time does my child need to arrive for the ceremony?
Students need to be in the gym at 1:30.
Where can I order promotion photos?
https://dorianstudio.com/ type ‘Washington Manor Middle School’ in the search bar and select the green register button and follow the directions.
Are photos and videos allowed during the ceremony?
We ask that all guests remain seated to best allow everyone the opportunity to enjoy the event without missing a thing. You are welcome to take photos and videos from your seat.
What if anyone in my party has special needs or accessibility requirements?
If someone in your party requires special accommodations, please reach out to the main office at (510) 317-5501 ahead of time so we can be sure to make note of those accommodations and have preparations in place to ensure a comfortable and inclusive experience for everyone.
What if I have a stroller?
To ensure that the aisles remain clear throughout the ceremony, we respectfully ask all guests to remain seated. Strollers may be accessed as needed in the designated stroller area.
